Death Cap

If a friend or loved one dies in the woods, lost, or in battle, this unappealing forest spirit will rise up out of the bark and mold to carry the remains back to your door step, collapsing in a lovely pile of corpse, dirt, tree bark, bugs etc. The gruesome appearance and unceremonious dumping of half rotten corpses often leads to fainting housewives and terrified children, so they are not particularly beloved beings, despite their friendly intentions.
